October 1, 2022

Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) is commemorated in October to bring awareness to domestic violence. During DVAM and throughout the year, we seek to remind survivors that they are not alone, and that help is available.

In 2015 the first national survey of adult survivors of clergy perpetrated sexual abuse was conducted (March-May 2015). 280 survivors participated in the study, which was directed by David Pooler, Ph.D., LCSW. Find a summary of some of the findings here.

How to Respond When Worship Materials Are Implicated in Abuse is a survivor-centered resource from MennoMedia.
